yesterdays UOI

yesterday we talked about our action for the exhibiton about our topic. my action is to teach the villagers in cijayanti of how to make a good compost because in the village there are lots and LOTS of trash. there is a banana seller that always pas my house about twice a week. I ask him that please help me for asking to he villagers who is interested in making compost so far there are ten families that is interested. I will teach them on saturday. I hope I will do great and everybody will start to recycle!

my inter view to my secondary resource

Today I interviewed Ibu. Sofia. she is the school general affair manager. the interview is to check how much does the school spend for buying fertilizer and what kind fertilizer that the school use. the answer will be compared to my cost of the compost materials. but the solution is we can't compare it because the school bought for one package for about six months. and if mine the cost is 25,000. but that doesn't include the all the material because I alredy have some of them so this price is only the one that I bought. the school use the pupuk kandang fertilizer. then Ibu. Sofia and Mrrs. Jane gave me an inputs about the comparisen of the cost. their inputs are to buy all the compost from different brand of comppost either its fake or the real thing. and later I will try it on my plants which one will grow faster. ten I will mark take note of it and on the exhibition day I will show the brands which one has good and bad quality or fake or real. hope I get good result. and to test it I will ask my primary resource of how to test it.

my performance practice

on wednesday I have my performance practice its fun but a little bit nervous. my group performance is about planting a tree using compost. the compost is made from the organic waste. but I think from all of the group I think the best is misyas group because they performed wel except for the instrument they didn't have any drummer. if they had a drummer I think it will be great.

what do I do today

today (14 of may 07) on UOI time we explain our experiment for our exhibition. I felt a little bit nervous especialy the question asked by my friends lland teacher. I think david has a good explanation and interesting experiment. For me his better than me. >_< =)

Intro

Hi, my name is Jasper. I studied in SPH. now I'm making this blog for my exhibition soon. my topic is about waste our theme is sharing the planet, our title is its our world andwe are responsibleee for it, our central idea is we are responsible for determining causes of changes in our natural environment around us.

my group and the inquiries

my group name is The Recycler. The members are Jasper, David, Tiffany and Tasha. Idid the compost, David did the biomass stove, Tiffany did the recycled bag and Tasha did the paper recycling. My inquiry into are:

To utilize waste and change it into useful stuff

To be more attentive towards the enviromental isue

To take part in saving our neighborhood

The waste are local community

My key concept

my key concept are responsibility and connection. I chose responsibility because to throw, collect,recycling is our responsibility. if connection because if we don't ecycle waste and keep burning waste it could make the CO2 increase a lot and the world will be hot.

experiment description

now my experiment has goes well it needs a few more days to be done. I made two different types of compost one is the dirt compost and one more is the leaf comppost. Imade two in school and two in my house. later i wil show it to the villagers. there are 10 families that are interested to make the comppost.

My second inquiry

My second inquiry is to be more attentive towards the environmental isue. we need to think more about our environment than ourselves. we can use our own bag to bring our stuff from the supermarket that we bought. We could also buy thigs the lasrgest size so it can reduce the waste.try to be an enviro shopper.

recycling and reusing is one fo the best way to do this. or even unused stuff from milk package that is made from box. give those things to the villagers they can sell it and make money. by doing that we get benefits such as helping people and maybe make our house cleaner.

later when you get used to it you can't stop to do this except if you really want to refuse it. don't forget the most important thing "throw your rubish in he right place".it will be even better if we make a rubbish bin in two different kind one is usual binand one more is a bin for recycle.

first inquiry

My first inquiry is how to utilize waste and change into useful stuff. As you know these days people burn rubish. Instead of burning it try to manage it well by composting,preventing, minimizing, recycling, reusing and waste disposal.

After a few discussion with my team we came out with the idea to recycle wastes in different ways. each of us will do different experiments. So we started to search the information and datas from books, internet and primary resource (expert). by having complete data we expect the experiment run successfully and reach our goal.

I do some trials and errors of the experiment in making compost. By doing this I fulfil the inquiries of preventing, minimizing, recycling, composting and waste disposal.

After that I want to socialize this experiment to the school gardeners, and the villagers around my area (Cijayanti). I am hoping this will help the school reducing the cost in buying fertilizer and stopping them in burning the rubbish. And this will help the disadvantage people in Cijayanti to utilize the sources in making compost. If they are successful in making compost, this could help them making money and it will keep their environment clean and healthy. It can also help in reconditioning the soil.

I'm making a model of airplane using the used bottles, cans, softdrink boxes, boxes and bottle lid.

I will interview again to my primary resource for my final report.

Bikers in Jakarta still doesn't care about the the left lane rule. On Tuesday January 9, 2007 from 6:00 85 bikers has broke the rule. as well as the Pandjaitan street there are 95 victims. What am I doing now for the exhibition?

I'm in the process of my second trial compost. I made it at school. Everyday I update it by note down on a piece of paper, the temperature, date, and schedule of shuffling the compost. I do it every six hours.

Besides I'm making the logo of my group. It has the symbol of recycle and there's an eagle in the center just the same as the SPH eagle logo. but still I stick to use the waste for making that, except for the painting. I used eggshells to fill inside. later I will paint the eggshells.

I'm also preparing my display booths.

The Performance

How does it help the audience to understand about your inquiry?

On the performance we will show some of the example of what can you do to the waste.

How can you show your talents?

We show it by making all the backgrounds in our own creation.

The purpose is your massage clear?

I guess so, because our performance is not so complicated, it’s simple.

Consider the length of your performance?
I think it’s about 5-8 minutes because we need to change the background
